U.S. President Donald Trump is now “immune” to the coronavirus as a result of his Covid 19 disease. The immunity is like a “protective glow” for him, Trump said today in a telephone interview with Fox News. He feels “fantastic,” Trump said.
The 74-year-old said he tested positive for the corona virus on October 1. Trump fell ill with Covid-19 and was therefore treated in a hospital for three days starting October 2. Experts assume that people are immune after surviving a CoV infection. For how long, however, is still unclear.
A Tweet Trumps, in which he also claims his immunity, was given a warning by Twitter. The warning stated that the tweet violated the rules on spreading misleading and potentially dangerous information regarding Covid-19.
President promotes experimental antibody therapy
In the interview, Trump again promoted the Covid-19 treatment with an experimental antibody cocktail from the biotech company Regeneron, which he had received in hospital. The drug is not a treatment method, but a “cure” and a “miracle” that should soon be available to everyone, he advertised.
However, the antibody cocktails developed by several manufacturers have not yet been approved and are only available in relatively small quantities for the foreseeable future. According to critics, Trump is promoting the drug as a miracle weapon to distract from his government’s failure to contain the pandemic before the November 3 election.
According to his personal physician “no longer contagious
According to Trump’s personal physician, the US president is no longer contagious. The latest coronavirus test, according to “currently accepted standards,” showed that Trump “no longer poses a transmission risk to others,” said physician Sean Conley on Saturday night in a letter distributed by the White House.
